Na Fianna

From the first to the fourth century, Ireland was protected from invasion by a band of warriors who were known as Na Fianna. These men were made up of members from many different tribes whose aim was to protect and preserve the Irish way of life, her culture, and her arts.
The band has evolved through the years, the line-up changed, and now comprises of brothers Ciarán and Hugh Finn, James O'Connor and Peter McMahon. These young men continue to transcend generational barriers with their unique interpretation of Ireland's rich heritage through storytelling and song. They are professional, hard working, highly skilled musicians who stay true to themselves and their heritage. Loyalty to tradition and each other is their forte. This ethos, combined with their exceptional capacity to entertain, has been the catalyst for the continued rise of Na Fianna.

The songs they perform are original, traditional and contemporary, with a very exciting sound, to drive the masses of audiences they have played for into a fresh and new musical satisfaction. What the industry is saying about Na Fianna

"Blending the ballad traditions of The Clancy Brothers and The Dubliners with the folk / rock influences of Paul Brady, rising four-piece Na Fianna have their eyes on a big prize: modernising the soul of Irish folk music. Add the energy of The Pogues, the expat swagger of New York-based Black 47 and the mischievous humour of The Saw Doctors and you have a properly 21st century take on a tradition that goes back long before any of the members of Na Fianna were born."

Na Fianna Album Launch

"As Album Launches go, this one will take some beating! In fact it was probably the biggest crowd seen at such an event in recent times. Greeted with the kind of wild cheers reserved for homecoming stars, the fast-rising Quartet went on to prove to the few unconverted that they can cut it live just as much as on record. Their exuberant blend of upbeat balladry, traditional, folk and Celtic Rock is hard to resist, especially in a live setting.A Night to remember."
